Muslims around the world are about to end the observance of the month of Ramadan as they focus on prayer and fasting before the celebration of Eid.
Eid, as being shortened from Eid Al-Fitr, is the “festival of breaking the fast”, and sees families and congregations coming together to eat and pray.
The Muslim fraternity either young or adult across the globe engaged in 30-days to seek Allah’s favor and guidance in the years ahead.
Moreover it is a time of sacrifice to show love, to get closer to Allah and present gifts to each other where it create a bond of unity among the Muslims, Christians in Ghana including residents of the Shama constituency.
However the Member of Parliament for Shama constituency in the western region, Hon Samuel Erickson Abakah on Friday, May 7th, donated food items as a token to Muslim fraternity in the Shama District of the Western Region.
The presentation was made on the occasion of Eid Al-fitr festival of the Islamic brethren within the Shama District.
Hon. Samuel Erickson Abakah’s contribution to support the Muslims during, before and after their 30-days fasting and prayers, presented “96 bags of rice, 20 bags of sugar, 40 cartoons of Tin Tomatoes and 40 cartoons of edible oil”, all totalling Thirty Five Thousand Ghana Cedis {GH¢ 35,000.00}.
“as a district or constituency, we own a duty to celebrate with our Muslim fraternity”, he added.
The vice chairman for Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises Committee of Parliament, indicated that, they are solidly behind the Muslims to appreciate their sacrifice to the community and the nation as well.
Meanwhile the legislature further said with the help of Allah, the Muslim fraternity should keep up the good work to uplift the image of the Shama constituency.
Ibrahim Huseini – Chief Imam “Ahlussunna” behalf of his fellow Muslim brethren in the Shama District, thanked Hon. Samuel Erickson Abakah for the kind gesture and prayed that Allah would continue to expand his territory to reach other people in the constituency.
