W/R: Bible Society of Ghana Urges Churches to Support Cause Of Spreading The Word Of God

The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) is calling on all Churches and Christians to support the cause of spreading the Word of God in the country.

According to them, it costs the BSG US$18 to translate a verse from the original languages of Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek into any Ghanaian Language with the cost of a full Bible Translation of 31,102 verses (US$ 559,836).

This was made known to Kantanka TV’s Western Regional correspondent, Benjamin Bray after the 2022 Bible Week celebration under the theme: “THE BIBLE AND INTEGRITY.”

This year’s celebration was discussed in various ways and platforms, revealing the import of the theme and the need for Christians to live a life of integrity which is the foundation upon which their character must be built.

 

Addressing Christians at the Miracle Revival Center Assemblies of God Church, Tarkwa on behalf of the General Secretary, Mr. Kweku Kum (Western Regional Oversight Committee of “BSG”), said in the absence of integrity, the lives of individuals begin to crumble with ripple effects upon others are disastrous.

Meanwhile, there is a clarion call is for them to demonstrate integrity in handling Church, organisational and public resources entrusted into their care.

Again, there should be a demonstration of integrity in family matters including marital fidelity or faithfulness and also in speech and actions as a people and Christians in all spheres of national life.

The Chairman, Western Regional Oversight Committee of “BSG”, Kweku Kum emphasize that in 2022, they are determined to continue their reach to all their special audiences with Bible advocacy and engagement programmes.

Furthermore, they have rolled out the Teens Trauma Healing for the masses of youth facing distressing situations where students in the Junior High School, Senior High School and the Tertiary institutions would benefit from this.

“We would distribute Braille Bibles to every regional library in the country and Schools for the Blind in Ghana”, Mr. Kum added.

Climaxing the 2022 Annual Bible Week celebration, the Western Regional Bible Society of Ghana Oversight Committee Chairman encouraged Christians to continue to pray to God for the end of the Covid-19 pandemic plaguing nations of the world.

He said they must us all ensure that as a Church they lead in the crusade of strict adherence to the Covid- 19 protocols in all gatherings.

The Ghanaian populace was urged to register to become members of the Bible Society and also support making Bibles available, affordable and usable to transform the lives of many people.

The Western Regional Ghana Bible Society celebrated the 2022 Bible Week celebration with various activities including public lectures, symposiums, prayers sessions among others in most churches across the nation.

However, the head pastor of Miracle Revival Center Assemblies of God Church, Tarkwa, Rev. John K. Koomson also called on individuals and churches to champion and rally behind the Ghana Bible Society to execute its duty through an energetic way of spreading the word of God.
