USING FACTION AS YOUR PRIMARY CAMPAIGN MESSAGE IS A WEAK STRATEGY, SAYS MARK OFORI

Less than 1 minute Minutes

Let us disprove the claim that certain factions within the NPP, such as members who claim to be the Danquah-Busia-Dombo artificial faction, can be the only faction that can lead the NPP as a presidential candidate in the general election.

Some refer to it as the NPP’s tradition.

It is not correct.

Apart from the party’s primary value of “Development in Freedom,” the NPP does not recognise anything else.

As a political party with image of thought that apprehends multiplicities in the UGCC and UP, the NPP exclusively believes in Development in Freedom.

Those that hide behind the fake construction of tradition, such as Danquah-Busia-Dombo, are all new to the NPP and thus forging their own path within it.

As enshrined in our party’s constitution, which was registered with the Electoral Commission on June 24, 1992, amended on August 29, 1998, 2003, and further amended on August 22, 2009, the articles 3 and 12, which stated who could become our flag bearer, every good-standing member of the NPP has the opportunity to become the party’s presidential candidate.

Let us disagree with anyone who believes that a faction inside the NPP has the ability to become the flagbearer and let’s protect what our forefathers fought for.
