A young trainee nurse who was reported missing has been found dead. The 25-year-old lady, known as Georgina Asor Botchwey, is said to have gone for an interview in Cape Coast but never returned.
After she was reported missing, investigations by the police led to her dead body being discovered in the room of the Tufohene of Ekumfi Akwakrom in the Central Region. Georgina’s body was discovered and exhumed on 20th September in a room belonging to the chief. She had been buried there for about three weeks.
A pastor who allegedly had a hand in the death of the deceased confessed to her disappearance, leading police to the house of the chief, known as Nana Crack. The pastor confessed to the police that he helped the chief in killing and burying the young lady. He has since been remanded in police custody.
However, the chief, Nana crack, who is also the president of the Mankessim Traders Association has taken to his heels and is nowhere to be found. The assembly of the area has therefore urged the IGP to increase security in the area. According to the assemblyman, this was the fifth time such an incident has happened in the town.
