A man, reportedly in his 30s, has been beaten to death for allegedly trying to steal a Grand Bird bus belonging to the V.I.P Transport company in Asafo in Kumasi, the Ashanti region of Ghana.
The sad incident is said to have occurred on March 8th, 2023 at dawn. According to reports, the deceased entered the bus terminal of the V.I.P. at 4 am, boarded the bus with registration number GE 2304-10, and attempted to drive it away.
The driver’s assistant of the bus spotted what was going on and chased the bus in a tricycle with help from some people. The suspect upon seeing the chase then decided to ditch the bus and run away but was captured by a mob who unleashed some severe beatings on him. The suspect ultimately died due to the beatings and his body was deposited at the morgue.
Police have also launched an investigation into the incident.
