A former member of the finance committee of parliament has stated that Ghana will take about 20 years to clean up the economic mess caused by President Akuffo Addo.
Dr. Ato Forson, who is the former deputy finance minister, stated that if the people in charge of the nation’s economy had listened to his advice about seeking a bailout from the IMF, the economic situation would have been better.
In an interview on Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, the MP urged Ghanaians to voice their discontent against the poor administration of the ruling NPP party, stating that they were ruling the country was scary.
He revealed that the way president Akuffo Addo was handling the nation’s economy had even given him the inspiration to pen a book dubbed ‘How not to run an economy’. He also president Akuffo Addo has set negative records in the way he has managed the economy of Ghana since the country gained its independence from the British.
Dr. Ato Forson also pointed out the reckless spending and borrowing as proof that the government had been mismanaging the Ghanaian economy.
