The Deputy Director of the National Lottery Authority “NLA”, Anna Hormah Akaisi Miezah is said to have made Frivolousness Comments on the 2020 Election Manipulation Essikado-Ketan Constituency that seeks to undermine the integrity of the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Joe Ghartey.

According to Ebenezer Cudjoe, and David Oscar Amoah who were said to have been appointed as NPP Collation Agents for the 2020 Parliamentary, and Presidential election, Anna Hormah Miezah spewed unfolded allegations about the conduct of the 2020 parliamentary polls in the constituency, where she and other Regional Executives of “NPP”, allegedly manipulated the electoral process at the Collation Center to save the incumbent parliamentarian, Joe Ghartey from defeat”.

“We have her on tape spewing unfolded allegations that she and other Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) manipulated the electoral process at the Collation Center to save the incumbent parliamentarian, Joe Ghartey from defeat”, they said.

Information gathered indicates that Madam Anna Horma Akaisi Miezah has declared her intention to contest in Essikado-Ketan’s upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries after unsuccessful attempts in Ellembelle Constituency.

She decided to join Essikado-Ketan NPP parliamentary race when the incumbent MP, Joe Ghartey sought to advance further in his political career to lead the ruling New Patriotic Party in the 2024 presidential election.

In refuting the claims by NPP Western Regional Treasurer, Ebenezer Cudjoe, and David Oscar Amoah in a joint press release indicated that Anna Horma Akaisi Miezah made the unfolded electoral comments during her engagement with polling and electoral area coordinators at Nketsiakrom, Essikado East and West, Mpentemserew, Kojokrom, Kansaworado, Fijai, Ridge, Ketan, Anoe, Mempeasem, and Mpintsin between 27 December 2022 and 2 January 2023.

The 2020 election Essikado-Ketan NPP coalition agents emphasized that Hormah Miezah’s comments have caused the party great disrepute, and further armed their political opponent, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who failed to prosecute the same allegation in court, to damage the NPP.

They stated unequivocally that there were no elements of manipulation or even an attempt to manipulate results or the electoral process right from the polling station to the Collation Center.

Furthermore, results, as collated by the party at the constituency were corroborated with certified pink sheets from the Electoral Commission at various levels.

“There were no variations whatsoever, in the results to even suggest something or someone tempered with the results or process in favor of the party’s parliamentary candidate, Joe Ghartey”, they added.

It is a fact, that Anna Hormah Miezah was not even assigned to Essikado-Ketan Constituency to even confirm her frivolous claim but as prescribed by the leadership of the party she was assigned to Shama Constituency to monitor the electoral process, according to Ebenezer, and Oscar.

Although, they stated in the press release that some other regional and other party executives were officially assigned to conduct the business of election monitoring and reporting at the Collation Center on election day.

They are therefore entreating NPP members and Ghanaians to disregard the claims made by Anna Hormah Miezah and treat them as complete falsehoods.

However, they shall resort to their internal party structures in remedying any damages caused by Hormah Miezah’s reckless assertions.

The NPP, Essikado-Ketan will not entertain such frivolousness on the part of any person who in the pursuit of a political ambition will impugn the integrity of the Member of Parliament, and the party at the constituency level.
