The Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, with some Police Management Board (POMAB) members on Saturday 2, April 2022 visited the Ellembelle District in the Western Region over a sad incident that occurred on Friday, 1, April 2022.
His presence yesterday at Teleku Bokazo and its environs was to get first-hand information on the sad incident that occurred between the security officers and the youth which led to the attack on Essiama Divisional Police Command.
The IGP together with his entourage visited Ellembelle District Assembly, the District Magistrate Court, and Teleku Bokazo Chief Palace, where he and some POMAB members, and the Western Regional Police Command interacted with personnel, Assembly and court officials, chiefs and some community members inspect damages caused with the view of finding a lasting solution to similar incidents.
Mr. Akuffo Dampare was accompanied by Board members of the police service, some POMAB members, the western regional police command, the Ellembelle District Chief Executive, and Mr. Kwesi Bonzo.

According to reports, the youth of Teleku Bokazo and Anwar clashed with armed military men in connection with alleged Adamus abandoned concession in the area in an attempt to get them off the concession.
The security men were said to have arrested about 30 youths who were working at the Adamus pit site on Friday, 1, April 2022.
However, after the arrest, irate youth attacked some state institutions yesterday, including the attack on Police personnel at the Essiama Divisional police headquarters where they vandalized vehicles.
Meanwhile, the youth classified as alleged “galamseyers” were sent to the Nkroful Magistrate Court for prosecution on the same day after the sad incident.
Moreover, the aggrieved Teleku Bokazo youth further matched to the Magistrate Court premises where reinforced military men paraded themselves and opened gun fires at the youth resulting in the death of a young man identified as Andrew Donkor in the community with others sustaining various forms of injuries.
The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Ekwei health facility in the Ellembelle District.
