A dilapidated government school under the Ghana Education Service, Nana Nketsia Basic School, situated at Essikado Traditional Area in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region from 2021 to the first quarter of 2022 have been attacked by unknown thieves for six consecutive times.
The thieves who have attacked the Nana Nketsia Basic School (JHS Block) on several occasions made away, Science Text Books, Bowls, Ice Chest, Wall Clocks among other items.
However, a visit to Nana Nketsia Basic School, the thieves recently continued their operations at the Junior High Block where they managed to cut off electric wires from the main electric pole to the prepaid meter where after their intended agenda took away the electrical cables except the prepaid meter attached to the school block.
Notwithstanding, Weed Smokers within Essikado Community have also used both the Nana Nketsia Primary and Junior High School block surroundings as a place of easing themselves.
Furthermore, aside the unknown thieves attacking the school, Kantanka Akwansosem can confirm that Nana Nketsia Junior High School is being dilapidated which needs an immediate attention by stakeholders.
Meanwhile, letters cited by Kantanka Akwansosem reporter indicates that Nana Nketsia Basic School authorities have gone to the door steps of stakeholders but effort to see the facelift of the Junior High School block has proved futile.
However, old students of Nana Nketsia Basic School are being called on to help reshape the Junior High School block being dilapidated if stakeholders have turned into deaf ears after several letters sent to them for help by the school.
As at the time of filing this report, the old Students of Nana Nketsia Basic School after hearing the current state of the school have decided to regroup themselves to help the school that gave them early education.
