COCOBOD Funds Benchema-Adwofua Cocoa Roads With $43M.
Cocoa for decades has been the bench rock of Ghana’s economy with the effort of cocoa farmers across the nation.
However, cocoa farmers in Ghana including the western north region after harvesting cocoa find it difficult to transport cocoa beans from various farms to sheds.
In the Western North Region, a total of Forty-Three (43) Million Dollars is being used for the construction of Benchema to Adwofua cocoa roads in the Bia East District.
The cocoa road project is being funded by the COCOBOD.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aiddo, the Benchema-Adwofua cocoa roads are important to the Ghana Government and COCOBOD because it’s linked through major cocoa producing communities.

Mr. Aidoo on a visit to the Western North Region after 3 years of cocoa rehabilitation, emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has really done well in cocoa production in Sefwi and its catchment areas.
He commended the Government for taking interest in cocoa roads, especially the Western North Region under the “Year of Roads”.
The 38km cocoa roads from the Benchema barrier to Adwofua were awarded to Amandi Investment Limited.
