Some traders in the busy Kumasi district of Adum have closed their shops in protest over the rising taxes being levied against their goods.
The traders have complained about having to pay several taxes on their goods apart from paying high fees to rent their stores as well as the amount the metropolitan assembly was charging them.
According to the traders, all these were making them lose any small profit they make from their businesses. They also stated that the cumulative taxation was destroying their businesses.
