The Nzema East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah has called on the people to become and shun anything that will divide them.
This according to her, will bring development to the district for a better living.
She said the people should reserve the temptation to fall back on pettiness associated with partisanship which follows on threat and get out of hands that will destroy their unity as a people with a common purpose.
The 2022 65th Independence Day Anniversary was with the theme “WORKING TOGETHER, BOUNCING BACK BETTER”.
The Nzema East MCE said, the 65th Independence Anniversary was an opportunity to heal back divisions that has obstructed their progress in more ways in development and economic prosperity.
“We know we can do better when we work together, given the nature of where we are and where we have to go, with inculcation of strong moral character, hard work”, the MCE emphasized.
Madam Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah, continued that the story of the past 65 years is well known with created opportunities where Ghana is poised to relaunch its development once more.
President Nana Akuffo-Addo Dankwa’s representative in the Nzema East Municipality, further said citizens should pledge themselves new motherland and support Ghana to dream its image.
The first female Municipal Chief Executive for Nzema East, therefore called on both the young and old together in one accord as people to achieve for themselves the prosperous Ghana they want to enjoy tomorrow.
The MCE in an address at the 65th Independence anniversary held at Axim Victoria park, acknowledged the efforts and commitments teachers have contributed over the years to transform the lives of the citizenry, particularly the people of Nzema East.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people, including heads of department, security, traders among others graced the occasion as Ghana celebrates 65th anniversary.
Contingents from the various security agencies, students and teachers drawn from the Ghana Education Service, and civil society organisations (CSOs), including 4 Senior High, 8 Primary, 6 Cadet and 8 Junior High Schools among others partake in the parade 65th Independence Day anniversary.
